Established in the 1940's, this expansive 100 acre memorial garden style cemetery has served the capital district of NY for 75 years and running. With rolling hills and views of the surrounding Helderberg and Taconic mountain ranges (yes, New York does have mountains!) it's a beautiful place to visit and just walk around and explore the 24 individual memorial gardens.
When visiting, be sure to check out the sandstone carvings of the Last Supper and Good Shepard as well as checking out the large Briarwood Mausoleum. This memorial garden has 80,000 burial spaces along with numerous cremation niches. More can be read by visiting the MemoryGardens.org
