Sending via Post Office (USPS)
In 2025 USPS started requiring use of an official Cremation Box for all amounts of human and pet cremation ash, regardless how little. Your local post office does not stock this box and it must be ordered online. >> Order here. <<
Order ONLY the small BOX, if you get the large BOX it will be 2-3x expensive.
When ordering infused artwork please also order however many cremation boxes you need from USPS. If you are more than 5 (the maximum per) order, then reorder the remainder. The box itself, and the shipping of, is free however there is a postage cost of between $31 to $64 to ship it, based on how far you are located from the artist (sorry those in Hawaii and Alaska, you get to pay the max.)
We will still be sending you material to put the cremation ash in and instructions of where to send it; this will be sent via a ground advantage 9x12 mailer UNLESS you've ordered silver jewelry/chains/or other inventory from us in which case we'll ship in either a bubble mailer or box. Please allow 5-7 days for your kit/inventory to arrive.
Please note sending cremation ash this way is the USPS regulation, not a regulation Spirit Pieces itself has. We will accept packages no matter how they are sent, as long as they arrive.
Sending Via Fedex
Spirit Pieces was granted special permission to ship human ashes and pet ashes by FedEx legal, but as of yet this exception has not been widely communicated to FedEx stores and partners (i.e. Walgreens). For this reason, it is best to provide, pack and seal your own box. If FedEx shipping staff packs the kit for you, they’ll likely reject the shipment. Volunteering you’re shipping cremation ash will likely cause confusion in the store. We would classify this as “memoriabilia”, if asked what you are shipping by Fedex Staff.
We suggest shipping in a small box vs. a flat rate envelope. Shipping cost is approximately $15. Please note: if the artist has a PO Box, you cannot use FedEx to ship to them; you must use USPS to ship. We do offer prepaid Fedex labels for $12 upon request; if interested email us at hello@spiritpieces.com when ready to ship for more information.
If you are ordering from multiple artists to save money on sending multiple kits you have the option to send them all back to Austin in one shipment for delivery in 6-8 weeks, or individually directly to the artist for delivery in 4-6 weeks.
