As Spirit Pieces grew through 2016 it became apparent that our current eCommerce platform, Squarespace, was quickly becoming the wrong fit for our needs. From a poor mobile shopping experience to general technical support, it simply wasn't cutting the mustard.
In July 2017, after yet another period of downtime, we decided the time had come to make the move (and more importantly pay the money) to migrate our entire site onto Shopify. This process, taken over 10 weeks, was taken as an opportunity to re-organize our site.
Gone is the difficult navigational elements; we now have sub-menus and introduced the concept of inspiration and personalities. Product variants are much easier to navigate and seeing what's in your cart has become much easier.
We also took the opportunity to update our general look and feel and layout - hopefully it feels faster and more friendly. Finally, we now have the ability to generate custom collections on the fly for special purposes and customers.
It's been a bit rough and bumpy at times, but all in all we're super pleased by how it came out and we hope you enjoy our new site. We've added over 50 new products to it, including this stunning wire-wrapped pendant!
